Hello from the people behind LordOS
Who we are, why we build LordOS, and what we think about building it with AI.

Hi, I'm Federico Pereira, from IPERFEX. Together with my partner Pablo Miranda, I keep LordOS on its feet: we design it, write it, test it on real hardware and answer you every day.
This is the first post on our blog, so it felt right to start by saying hello, and thank you.
We didn't expect this
When we published the first beta, we hoped a few curious people would try it. What happened instead surprised us: a warm, strong welcome from the GNU/Linux community, from Debian users, and even from many people who arrived from the fruit company's side of the world. :)
Bug reports with screenshots, ideas, translations, kind messages, people installing LordOS on their Raspberry Pi just to see what it does. We never imagined this much acceptance and this much affection. Thank you, really.
And yes, we also read the critics
Not everything has been applause. Some people don't like decisions we made, and a question we get a lot is: are you for or against AI?
So here is our answer, once.
We have been GNU/Linux users for more than twenty years. We are programmers with a long track record; if you want to know more, you can look us up. LordOS is not a weekend experiment for us.
For us, AI is a tool. It does not replace our work on design and documentation, and it does not decide what LordOS is. We still design every screen, write the plans, test on real machines, and take responsibility for every release. What AI changes is speed: things that used to take a week now take a day, and we spend the difference on testing and on details.
Our view is simple: if we are good developers, AI makes us better ones. It doesn't make anyone good on its own.
What this blog is for
Here we'll write about what we build and why: releases, the Raspberry Pi, virtual machines, security, and the decisions behind them, including the ones you might disagree with. You can leave a heart and a short review on every post; we read them.
Thanks for being here at the beginning.
